Currently, sugar cane is in an extended period and is a critical period for topdressing. Most of the top dressings are carried out during this period. The technical measures are as follows:
Dressing amount (1) mountainous area. The general output is between 3 and 4 tons. The application amount is 5.5-6 kg of pure nitrogen (equivalent to 10-13 kg of urea), 5-6 kg of pure potassium (equivalent to 8 to 10 kg of potassium chloride); (2) Flatland (Paddy field replantation) and other high-yield fields (5-6 tons of output). The fertilizing amount is 7 to 8.5 kg of pure nitrogen (equivalent to 15 to 18 kg of urea), 7 to 8 kg of pure potassium (equivalent to 10 to 13 kg of potassium chloride), and (3) high-yielding fields with a yield of 7 tons or more. Mu Shi pure nitrogen 10 to 11 kg (equivalent to 20 to 25 kg of urea), pure potassium 10 to 11 kg (equivalent to 16 to 20 kg of potassium chloride). Phosphorus fertilizer is generally used as a basal fertilizer, and top dressing is only supplemented when basal fertilizer is insufficient.
Fertilization method Fertilization is usually carried out after rain or when the soil is wet. Applying topdressing in combination with large soils can reduce the workload and improve work efficiency. After removing the weeds first, apply the evenly mixed fertilizer strip (or spot) to a 10 cm section of cane to cover with thick soil.
Points to note (1) It is strictly forbidden to apply fertilizer on cane to prevent sprouting of the base of burning cane seedlings from affecting budding sprouts in the following year. (2) Do not apply fertilizer before heavy rain so as not to take away fertilizer from rain. (3) The soil is not fertilized when it is dry, so as not to reduce the drought resistance of sugar cane. If ammonium bicarbonate is used, generally 1 kg of urea is equivalent to 2.5 to 2.6 kg of ammonium bicarbonate.
