Diagnosis and treatment of wilting of eggplant leaves in greenhouses

According to field investigations, most of these symptoms are due to eggplant blight and root rot. In this regard, farmers are reminded not to ignore the wilting of eggplant leaves, which can be destructive. In order to allow farmers to prescribe the right medicine, the symptoms and control methods of the two diseases are described below.

First, eggplant wilt

The leaves of the diseased plants turned yellow and withered from the bottom up, and they mostly showed on the branches of 1-2 layers. Sometimes the same leaves were half yellow and half green, and the vascular bundles of the diseased stems turned brown.

Control methods: 1. Apply rotation for more than 3 years, apply adequately cooked organic fertilizer, adopt formula fertilization techniques, increase potassium fertilizer appropriately, and increase plant resistance to disease.

2. Select resistant varieties.

3. Use new soil nursery or bed soil disinfection. Use 50% carbendazim WP 8-10 grams per square meter, add soil and mix well. First spread 1/3 of the medicine on the surface of the pod, then sow, and then cover the rest of the medicine with the seed.

4. Seed disinfection. Soaking with 0.1% copper sulfate for 5 minutes, germination and sowing.

5. Spray 50% carbendazim WP or 36% thiophanate-methyl suspension 500 times in the initial stage of disease.

Second, eggplant root rot

Eggplant root rot disease will occur after colonization, at the onset of disease, the leaves wilting during the day, early and late to recover, after repeated many days, the leaves gradually become yellow and dry, after the whole plant withered and died, check the stem base, visible brown skin . It is easy to attack when the soil temperature is 25°C-28°C and the soil is moist. Ungrafted spring greenhouse eggplant is now the high incidence of the disease.

Control methods: 1. Agricultural measures. Places with conditions can carry out 2-3 year rotations with cruciferous vegetables, onions and garlic vegetables. The implementation of sorghum cultivation, sorghum cultivation can avoid long-term root immersion in water after rain or irrigation, and can increase the temperature, promote root development, and improve resistance to disease. Reduce soil moisture, remove water from the field in time after rain, and avoid soil moisture.

2. Soil disinfection. With 50% carbendazim WP or 50% benomyl wettable powder and the right amount of fine soil and mix well before planting scattered into the planting hole.

3. At the beginning of the disease, the liquid is used to irrigate the roots. Generally, 0.2-0.3 liters of liquid per strain is applied, and irrigation is performed once every 7-10 days, and continuous irrigation is performed 2-3 times. Commonly used irrigating agents are: 50% carbendazim WP 500 times, 50% benomyl WP 800 times, 50% thiophanate-methyl WP 500-800 times or copper sulphate 2,000 times Liquid and so on. Since this pathogen is very sensitive to copper ions, it is very good to use a copper sulfate solution to irrigate the root, but be careful not to overdo it to prevent phytotoxicity.
