Abstract: With the improvement of living standards, people are no longer unfamiliar with health care products. The use of packaging containers to ensure that fish oil maintains good quality during the shelf life is a common concern for health care products companies. This paper discusses the method of determining the oxygen barrier of packaging containers by using OX2/231 oxygen transmission rate tester from the barrier properties of packaging materials, which provides a reference for enterprises to choose suitable packaging materials.

1 , meaning

2 , testing basis

Oxygen permeation is a physical indicator for characterizing the oxygen barrier properties of packaging materials. Commonly used test methods include isostatic method ( coulomb method ) and differential pressure method. The oxygen permeation of packaging containers is mostly determined by isostatic method. At present, there is no standard for oxygen permeability testing in packaging containers in China. The testing process in this paper is based on the American standard ASTM F1307 .

3 , test samples

The common packaging materials for fish oil soft capsules are glass bottles and plastic bottles. In this paper, a plastic bottle for fish oil soft capsule packaging is used as an example to test the oxygen permeation amount.

4 , test equipment

The testing equipment used in this paper is the OX2/231 oxygen transmission rate tester that meets the requirements of ASTM F1307 . This equipment is independently developed and designed by Jinan Languang Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd.

4.1 Test principle

The equipment is developed based on the principle of equal pressure. When testing the container sample, the sample is sealed on the sample holder and sealed in a closed space. During the test, the outside of the container flows with oxygen, and the inside of the container flows with high-purity nitrogen. Under the action, the oxygen outside the container penetrates into the inside of the container through the container, and is carried by the flowing nitrogen gas to the sensor for testing and analysis, thereby obtaining the result of the oxygen permeability of the container sample and the like.

4.2 Equipment parameters

4.3 Scope of application

5 , the test process

(1) The sample to be tested is tightly sealed on the sealing device of the sample holder with a quick-setting glue, and then the sample holder is installed in the device, and the sample and the sealing device are sealed with an aluminum foil-type sealed bag.

(2) Set the test temperature, test humidity and other parameter information, click the test option, the test starts.

(3) The equipment automatically calculates and displays the test results according to the changes in oxygen concentration tested.

6 , test results

The oxygen permeation amount of the plastic container for packaging fish oil soft capsules detected in this paper is 0.00631 cm 3 /(pkg·d) .

7 , conclusion

[Sample requirements]
The collected nasopharyngeal swab samples should be transported at 2°C to 8°C and sent for inspection immediately, and the sample delivery and storage time should not exceed 48 hours.

[Testing method]
1. Before sampling, mark the relevant sample information on the label of the sampling tube.
2. According to different sampling requirements, use a sampling swab to sample in the nasopharynx.
3. The specific sampling methods are as follows:

[Limitations of the test method]
