Meat Rabbit Variety---New Zealand White Rabbit

New Zealand white rabbits are native to the United States and are well-known meat rabbit breeds in the world. The rabbit was completely white in hair, round and short-shouldered, with thick ears, and erect. Adult male and female rabbits had meat flesh under the jaws, round hips, full muscles in the ribs, and strong limbs. Medium-sized, rabbits weighing 4-5 kg, strong reproductive performance, average 7 to 8 per litter. The rabbit is most characterized by high meat production, good meat quality, high slaughter rate, and is known for its early growth. Under good feeding conditions, it can reach 1.8 kg at 8 weeks of age and 2.67 kg at 12 weeks of age. The disadvantage of the rabbit is that the quality of the fur is poor, and the requirements for the feeding conditions are relatively high. Under the medium-low rearing level, the superiority of the rapid weight gain in the early stage is not fully exerted. However, better hybridization advantages can be obtained by crossing New Zealand white rabbits with Belgian rabbits.
