It's incredible how swiftly life can shift gears. Just yesterday, I was sailing smoothly—half of me indulging in cozy snuggles with my kids, the other half tackling my endless to-do list for work-from-home projects. Then came the call. In what felt like seconds, I was scrambling to regroup. A whirlwind of preparations meant I’d be jetting off for work in under twelve hours. The next hour was chaos—juggling calls, rescheduling, and soothing my little one who was still nestled beside me on the bed, their soft hair brushing against my hand. I could hear the steady rhythm of my baby's breathing from across the room. Already, I missed them.
Spontaneity and adaptability are qualities that define my family. Words I'm deeply thankful for. A surprise date night or a weekend getaway to the lake? Those plans will hold tight for another time. They'll always bow to something more urgent—and I’m okay with that. But watching my kids roll with the punches, their infectious smiles lighting up even the toughest moments? That’s pure magic. Watching them embrace change with such grace reminds me why I love this unpredictable journey so much.
Even now, as I sit here in the air, surrounded by clouds that look eerily like ocean waves, I'm reminded of the ebbs and flows of life. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle, but it's the calm moments that truly stand out. Last night, though, we found ourselves breaking free from routine. Our family went out for dinner, and the atmosphere was electric. Laughter echoed around us, drawing smiles from everyone nearby. Back home, bedtime stretched later than usual, leaving us all feeling full—not just in our stomachs, but in our hearts too. These are the moments I want to savor, even if they're fleeting.
But here's the thing—spontaneous joy doesn't have to wait for a major disruption.
