Make // A Holiday Card Display

 

I'm not quite ready to call this a full-on DIY project, but it's definitely one of those little things I managed to pull off with minimal effort! This is how my family has been showcasing the lovely holiday cards we receive every December for the past few years. It's super simple, fast, and budget-friendly—perfect for anyone who wants to add a touch of festive charm without breaking the bank.

Materials Needed:
Ribbon
Mini Clothespins
Duct Tape

For the ribbon, any color will do, but aim for something at least 1.5 inches wide to give the clothespins enough room to hang. I picked up my mini clothespins at Joann’s, though similar ones should be available at most craft stores. And let me tell you, duct tape is truly indispensable here. While it might seem like more of a "man's tool," its versatility makes it ideal for this project—it’s practically invisible once applied and removes cleanly from surfaces afterward.

To set it up, first measure out your ribbon so it’s about six inches longer than the width of your cabinets. Drape it across the front of the cabinet door, centering it properly, then secure the top edges using duct tape. Next, wrap the ribbon around the bottom edge of the cabinet and firmly attach it with more duct tape. Once that’s done, simply clip your cards onto the clothespins as they arrive. Voila! Your homemade card display is complete.

This setup is not only practical but also visually appealing. Seeing all those heartfelt messages from loved ones displayed beautifully really gets me into the holiday spirit. Plus, it’s such a satisfying way to honor the thoughtfulness of our friends and family during this special time of year.
