You know what they say—don't judge a project by its simplicity! While this isn't exactly a traditional DIY, it's one of the few things I can claim as "my own." For the past couple of years, this has been my go-to method for displaying all the lovely holiday cards we receive during the Christmas season. Trust me—it’s simple, fast, and budget-friendly!
Materials Needed:
Ribbon
Mini Clothespins
Duct Tape
When it comes to the ribbon, feel free to pick any color you like, but it should ideally be at least 1.5 inches wide to fit the mini clothespins comfortably. I got mine from Joann’s, but you can find similar ones at most craft stores. The duct tape plays a crucial role here. Some might argue it's more of a guy thing, but let’s face it—it’s incredibly versatile! I chose it because it’s discreet and leaves zero residue when removed from surfaces.
First, measure your ribbon and cut it approximately six inches longer than the width of your cabinet. Next, drape the ribbon over the open cabinet door and secure the top with duct tape. Then, wrap the bottom of the ribbon around the base of the cabinet and tape it firmly in place. Once everything is set up, simply clip your cards onto the clothespins as they arrive. Voila—you’re done!
This setup is not only practical but also adds a festive touch to your home decor. Seeing all those thoughtful cards from loved ones makes the holiday season even more special. Plus, it’s a great way to keep memories alive throughout the winter.
