Edible Citron Cultivation Technique

Edible citron, also known as Toona sinensis, is a high-quality perennial vegetable that has been cherished in traditional Chinese cuisine for centuries. It is not a fruit but the tender sprouts of a woody tree, often referred to as axillary buds or citron heads. This plant is rich in nutrients, including carotene and vitamins B and C, and is known for its ability to clear heat, detoxify, stimulate digestion, and even kill insects. In 2000, the city began introducing the Taihe Hongyou variety, which thrived well and brought significant economic returns. Over four years, cultivation techniques were refined and summarized as follows: First, seedling preparation. The ideal environment for seedlings is warm and humid, with good light, deep soil, and rich in calcium. The groundwater level should be at least 1.5 to 2.5 meters below the surface. It's best to use plots that are not previously planted with solanaceous crops, as they help avoid disease. For each mu (approximately 667 square meters), apply 4,000 to 5,000 kg of manure, 50 to 60 kg of superphosphate, and 40 to 50 kg of ammonium bicarbonate as base fertilizer. The soil should be loosened and raked into beds about 1 to 1.5 meters wide. Next, seed soaking and germination. Before sowing, soak the seeds in warm water (25–30°C) for 24 hours, then rinse and drain. Wrap them in 3–4 layers of moist gauze and keep them at 20–25°C for germination. Rinse daily with warm water and turn the seeds regularly to ensure even warmth. After 7–10 days, when some seeds begin to split and show radicles, they are ready for sowing. Sowing is typically done in spring, between mid-March and mid-April. Drill rows 20–30 cm apart, with furrows 3–4 cm deep. After sowing, cover the seeds with fine soil 1–1.5 cm thick. Each planting hole should contain two seeds. The recommended sowing rate is 3–5 kg per acre. Seedling management begins 5–7 days after sowing. Within 10–15 days, it’s important to prevent soil compaction. Newly emerged seedlings are delicate and may need partial shade. When the seedlings have 1–2 true leaves, perform the first thinning and weeding. Then, when they have 3–4 true leaves, reduce the number to around 10,000 plants per acre. Seedlings are usually transplanted to open fields in June and grown until April. From July to August, the growth is rapid, and nitrogen-rich fertilizers such as urea (10–15 kg per mu) or 1,000 kg of composted human waste are applied 2–3 times. Phosphorus and potassium are also used to promote lignification. In greenhouse cultivation, single shoots are preferred, so no topping is done. Instead, lateral branches are allowed to grow, while older lower leaves are removed later to encourage trunk development. Care must be taken to avoid leggy growth and maintain an appropriate height.

Aluminum Foil Tape

Aluminum foil tape is made of aluminum foil as the substrate (usually 30-50 microns thick), coated with pressure-sensitive adhesive (acrylic or silicone), and compounded with reinforcing materials such as fiberglass cloth and polyester. Its core functions include sealing, insulation, conductivity, moisture resistance, and electromagnetic shielding, suitable for extreme temperature environments (such as -50 ℃ to 200 ℃).

Core performance characteristics
Temperature adaptability:
Low temperature resistant type: maintains viscosity even at -50 ° C, suitable for cold storage and refrigeration equipment.
High temperature resistant type: Long term resistance to 200 ° C, used for automotive exhaust pipes and aviation engines.
Physical performance:
Fiberglass cloth reinforced type: Tear-strength up to 2364 N/100mm, puncture resistance;
Pure aluminum foil type: flexible and conforms to curved surfaces, conducting electricity and heat.
Adhesive performance:
Acrylic adhesive has strong initial adhesion (up to 4.0 N/cm on the PE surface), while silicone adhesive is resistant to high temperature aging.
Protective performance:
Barrier against moisture (Scapa CW50 moisture-proof), flame retardant, and corrosion-resistant.
Conductivity:
Some models (such as AL-37BLK) have electromagnetic shielding capabilities and are used for electronic devices.
