Diagnosis and Treatment of Kidney Type Kidney Type Bronchial Branches with Egg Bursal Disease

A farmer in Luan City raised 3,200 chicks, all around 30 days old. Suddenly, more than 30 of them died within a short period. According to the farmer, the sudden deaths were linked to abnormal weather conditions, which caused the chicks to display clear respiratory symptoms. To treat the condition, the farmer administered tylosin, human cold granules, and Banlangen granules, which helped reduce the breathing issues but didn’t stop the deaths. The chickens also showed a significant decrease in feed intake, and many made loud snoring sounds. Clinical signs included lethargy, drooping eyes, drooping wings, dry and dull feet, white feces, and progressively worsening grunting noises. Most of the affected chicks died within three days of showing symptoms. During necropsy, the dead chickens showed slight bleeding in the glandular and gastric mucosa. There was also a bleeding area at the junction between the muscular stomach and the glandular stomach. Kidneys exhibited a "spotted kidney" appearance with urate deposits, and the rectal band had severe hemorrhaging. The bursa of Fabricius showed atrophy with some areas of bleeding and mucus accumulation. The throat was swollen and congested, and there were streaks of bleeding in the chest and leg muscles. Based on these findings, the diagnosis was kidney-type infectious disease complicated by infectious bursal disease (IBD). Treatment involved administering Jindu Anti (1 bag per day) mixed with French Gram powder (3 bags per day) in drinking water. Fast-acting renal branches (3 bags per day) were also given. Additionally, electrolyte multivitamins (Webster-dimensional ammonia) were added to the water to boost the chickens' immunity. After three days of treatment, the mortality rate stopped, and the feces returned to normal. From this case, it's clear that the key early sign of kidney-type infectious disease is respiratory distress, which gradually fades after 3–5 days. This is followed by depression, dry diarrhea, and eventually death. During necropsy, swelling and atrophy of the bursa of Fabricius, along with hemorrhage and inflammatory secretions, are typical signs of IBD. Recommendation: Avoid using human medications for entire flocks, as this can lead to poisoning. To reduce kidney stress, adjust the feed composition by lowering protein content and increasing energy sources, which can help prevent such diseases effectively. Always consult a veterinarian before starting any treatment.
