The food is full and smart

First, closely observe how long the fish spend feeding at the feeding area. If the fish consume a normal amount of feed but finish it in less than two hours, it suggests that the feed is insufficient, and some fish may not have enough to eat. In this case, you should increase the feeding amount appropriately. If the feed quantity remains the same every ten days, but by the end of the period, the fish finish the food in under two hours, it indicates that the fish have grown and are now consuming more. Therefore, you should adjust the daily feeding amount upward. When using pellet feed, if the fish continue to hover on the surface without going down to the "second layer" of water, it may mean they are still hungry. For example, if fish scatter from the feeding area and leave uneaten bait behind, it shows they are full, and you can reduce the feed accordingly. Second, if the water surface is very calm and the fish are active in the pond, check for signs of parasites or possible hunger. In breeding ponds, if small fry start swimming rapidly around the pool, this could be a sign of poor feed palatability and severe hunger, commonly referred to as "race horse disease." Third, regularly monitor the growth of the fish, ideally once a month. Under proper stocking density and with a balanced mix of species, if the fish are not growing as expected and there's a large variation in size, it likely means some fish are not getting enough food and may be starving or semi-starved. Fourth, in ponds where fish are primarily raised, if the water clarity exceeds 40 cm, or the water changes from clear to murky, or if carp have large heads, small tails, narrow backs, weak swimming, or even show thin individuals floating on the surface, it indicates a lack of plankton, leading to slow growth. Fifth, to determine whether squid are hungry or full, check the water turbidity. If the entire pond appears very cloudy (yellowish in color), it suggests that the squid are frequently feeding at the bottom, which is a sign of starvation.
